I was REALLY disturbed when I tried to run a program I had compiled in about 1991 called SMS.exe, which I had sold as a shrinkwrapped product to several hundred thousand customers. To my surprise, it began an installation of FullonSMS from a zip file, and my code was replaced. The installed program crashes, and that disk image of my file was replaced. Pretty irritated. You probably weren't born yet when I spent years writing that code, decades before cell phones and simple text messages.
